Kindergarten I Can Statements Common Core Posters

Need a fun and engaging way to teach the common core standards?! This pack includes over 200 common core “I can” statement posters for ALL kindergarten language arts and math standards. In addition, each standard is stated in its entirety AND comes in several versions (if many skills are needed to master the standard). Each additional version targets a specific skill related to the standard and some versions even include different verbs and “I can” statements to differentiate as well.

→Posters can be printed in color or grayscale. (I print and laminate the ones I use the most often in color, but they can also be printed in grayscale for a fast and easy way to introduce/review/teach a standard.)

☆Also included, is a guide listing, in detail, ALL kindergarten language arts and math standards with spaces to mark the pages you have already printed, take notes, and each common core has the pages listed that cover it for easy finding, printing, and storing.

These posters are perfect for whole class, focus walls, small groups, centers, etc.

☆Each poster has the common core standard on the bottom, an “I can” statement in kid-friendly language, subject and content focus in the top right corner, specific picture clues to accompany the standard, and the “I can” statement. The “I can” statement is highlighted to assist in reviewing with students (important verbs are in red and important vocabulary is in blue).

Tips to utilize how the posters are organized:
•Page numbers listed on the page guide correspond to the “printable” page number. This means if you are printing the file from the computer you can send those pages to the printer. (This is why the page numbers start at 18.)
•If a standard is covered with several posters, the first poster will cover all the the concepts/skills in the standard and the posters following will have the standard broken down.
•If you have printed the poster, check the printed box on the page guide. This will help you keep track of what posters you already have ready to use. The “notes” section is for you to add additional notes (e.g.; pages you haven’t printed yet, color or b/w, etc.).

I designed this pack for several reasons:
•To make our lives easier: These posters are easy to print, in kid-friendly language, and can help keep life organized (each section is color coded, page numbers are at the bottom, etc.)
•To help us become more familiar with common core standards: These posters cover each standard’s “big picture” and its “pieces” as well
•To support student understanding: The graphics I have chosen were carefully selected and used specifically to support student understanding of each standard
•To help bring color and fun to our classrooms: Who doesn’t like colorful and fun graphics?!
